Dr. Milt Davis’s Continuuing Contribution to Sports Medicine

A study entitled “Injuries In National Football League Prospects & Longevity by Position In The NFL.” authored by Dr. Milt E. Davis,  V. Pat Lombardi and Richard K. Troxel of the University of Oregon was presented at the American College of Sports Medicine's 9th annual meeting at the Washington State
Convention and Trade Center in Seattle.

It was presented by  Professors V. Lombardi and Rick Troxel on behalf of Milt.
and will be published in ‘Medicine and Science in Sports and Exercise’, Volume 41:5 Supplement.  This is a much deserved tribute to Milt.

Willy was a good friend to all of us and we should not forget the energy and commitment he and Sandy brought to the alumni.  Scott has also sent us the 2008 Thanksgiving Letter which gives a closer look at the man with the moustache.

Mel Margolis 1938 - 2010



Husband, father, brother, grandfather and great laughing partner,  he loved life, people, and a good joke. He will be missed.

Mel was an excellent athlete and winning runner in high school,  at college and in the Army.

He served honorably in the Army at Fort Campbell, Kentucky and in Germany and was a member of the Color Guard of Jewish War Veterans, Post 617.

Mel was a successful business owner and community participant  who was always generous with his energy and sincere in his concern for others. He lived a rich, full life as a result of his  hard work and dedication to job, family and friends. We are lucky to have known him.
